Abi Gilchrist

Abi is a SE London-born vocalist and voice specialist who has an international performance career in jazz, pop and soul singing with artists such as Ronan Keating and Joss Stone, as well as specialising in coaching and working with voices at Abbey Road studios and the Southbank Centre.

Abi trained as a classical soprano at the Guildhall School of Music and then completed her BMus at Goldsmiths College. She also completed a one year diploma in Musical Theatre at the London School of Musical Theatre. Abi bases her singing technique coaching on the Estille Vocal method along with some of the pop vocal techniques from Roger Love. She believes that building a secure breathing technique along with one consistent voice between registers quickly improves and expands on everyone's vocal ability.

Abi believes almost ANYONE can sing and certainly EVERYONE can improve (and in a very short time too!) and singing in a choir setting is probably the best way of enhancing on your musical ability and gaining confidence in every aspect of your life.
